# 2025 Duncan MMA Winter Invite > Competition in Duncan, South Carolina, United States | February 08, 2025 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** Duncan MMA is hosting an invitation only, Submission BJJ Tournament in Kingsport, TN. The competition is no-Gi only and open to kids and adults, based on the ADCC ruleset. The tournament will be double elimination with a winners and losers bracket. Competitors will compete based on age, weight, and skill level. For youth competitors, we will try to pair everyone as best as we can in 10lb increments, but final bracket design may be limited based on the number of competitors that register for the event. Saturday, February 8th, 2025 Duncan MMA Gym 1133 N Eastman Rd, Kingsport, TN 37664 (next door to the Ollie's and Jimmy John's) $50 is the registration cost All competitors are welcome to come weigh in the night before and attend our regularly scheduled Gi BJJ classes at 5pm (youth) and 6pm (adult) at no additional cost. For same day weigh-ins, see below. We plan to run the youth matches from 9am-12pm and adult matches from 1-3pm. This time may be adjusted depending on the number of competitors that register. A final start time will be sent the week of the competition. Youth (under 16) weigh-in: Starts at 8am Youth (under 16) matches: Start at 9am (tentative) Adult (16+) weigh-in: 12pm (noon) Adult (16+) matches: 1pm (tentative) There is no spectator fee. Spectators are welcome to come and watch. Chairs will be in the gym and spectators are welcome to remove their shoes and watch matches on the mats. We have no official hotel accommodations but there are many around if you need them. There are ample food options in the immediate area including Jimmy Johns, Chik Fil A, Chipotle, McDonalds, and more. Last day to register is February 5th, 2025. Last day to make corrections is February 5th, 2025. We will try to work with kids on readjusting brackets if needed. Kids (under 16): 3 minutes Adults (16+): 5 minutes Legal techniques include chokes (rear naked choke, guillotines, D'Arce, anaconda, arm triangles, triangles with head pull, and Ezekiel chokes), shoulder and arm locks (such as kimuras, Americanas, straight armbars, omaplatas). Adults only: biceps slicers and lower body submissions including straight ankle locks, knee bars and calf slicers, mufflers, standing submissions. Youth Divisions All Divisions Initial Overtime (back control - 1 minute) Sudden Death (take downs) Coaches have the ability to stop a match at any time for their competitors. If a coach stops a match, their competitor forfeits the match. Referees and have the ability to stop a youth match (-16 years old) at any time if they concerned for an athlete’s safety (e.g. submission too tight, score being ran up, etc.).
