Friday Afternoon before the tournament, event brackets and a schedule will be released. You will be able to locate both on the event page brackets and schedule tab. The referee at your mat will also make a courtesy call for you to come to the mat if you haven’t already presented yourself for the bracket. Please be at the mat on time for your matches. We ask that you make sure to be present in the venue at least 60 minutes prior your division start time as well, fast matches or short forms sometimes allow us to get a head start on certain divisions. You can also tell when your matches are coming up by checking the tab on your mobile device during the competition. Please note, if you are not present at the time of your match, you will be disqualified from that match.

After the 12:30 P.M. deadline on April 23rd to edit registration information, competitors that do not have anyone in their division will be combined into another appropriate division. The goal is to provide every competitor with the best competition available.
No refunds will be given for this event.
As this is our first time using Smoothcomp, we are going to remove the requirement for day of weigh-ins. Instead we are going to trust athletes to register in the correct weight class. If you find day of the event you are way off your weight class, please let us know at check in so we can move you into the correct weight class.
**Note: if you weight class does not have enough competitors in it, we will move competitors to create as many matches as possible for people while maintaining fair competition. **
By completing registration for this event, the participant and/or the participant’s parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to the following: Participation in this tournament is voluntary and involves inherent risks. The participant and/or parent or legal guardian releases and holds harmless the promoters and directors, Dynamic Martial Arts of Sioux Falls, event staff, volunteers, judges, and any other persons involved in the operation of this event from any and all liability for injuries, losses, or damages that may occur as a result of attendance or participation. It is understood that on-site medical personnel may not be available, and that the participant and/or parent or legal guardian assumes full responsibility for all medical care, expenses, and rehabilitation for the participant. The participant and/or parent or legal guardian certifies that the participant is physically and mentally fit to participate and that any known medical conditions have been considered.
The participant and/or parent or legal guardian acknowledges that this tournament involves physical contact and affirms the right to refuse or withdraw from any situation deemed unsafe or inappropriate. It is further acknowledged that all tournament rules, policies, and division requirements published on the official event website, www.siouxfallsopen.com, have been read and understood and are agreed to as a condition of participation. The participant agrees to follow all instructions, directions, and commands given by judges, tournament officials, and promoters at all times. Failure to comply with published rules or with directions from event officials may result in disqualification from a division or from the tournament.
It is further understood that the tournament promoter reserves the right to modify, amend, or clarify tournament rules when deemed necessary for participant safety, competitive fairness, or the smooth operation of the event. Every reasonable effort will be made to communicate any such rule changes to all participants in a timely manner through appropriate channels.
It is the responsibility of the participant and/or parent or legal guardian to seek clarification from the participant’s instructor, the tournament promoter, or a qualified judge prior to competing if any questions or concerns exist. Knowingly registering in an inappropriate division, including registering below one’s skill level, may result in disqualification. All decisions and rulings made by judges and tournament officials are final. The participant and/or parent or legal guardian understands and agrees that all registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including disqualification or withdrawal from the event.
