About This Event
Dear Parents and Students,
I hope this letter finds everyone well. We are very excited to be with our 5.0 FAMILY
again. I would like to pass on the
details of our 15th annual tournament hosted by Jeff Speakman Kenpo
5.0 Pasadena. This year we will be back to Pasadena High School’s Boys Gymnasium. 5.0 Grappling will be open to all ages and
ranks this year. We will be accepting only
the first competitors so we can guarantee an amazing
experience for all! The tournament will be a great chance for your
children/yourself to experience a different environment. They/you will be able to compete against
other martial artists to see who has achieved a greater level of perfection.
Tournaments were what kept me excited during my personal training, and I am
sure it will do the same for our students.
The tournament is a fun-filled experience, which works on
the confidence level of our students. It
is great to see our confident students be able to get in front of a crowd, in a
stressful environment, and still be able to perform with perfection. Parents,
family, and friends are welcomed to come and watch. The Spectator fee/donation is $5 for adults
or children of all ages. Parking will be
available in the staff parking lot located northeast of the main gymnasium. After
12pm, parking will also be available in the parking lot in front of the gymnasium
(after farmers market ends).
We will set up the rings in the gym, which has built-in bleacher
seating. We will have warm food, snacks,
and drinks for everyone to purchase all day long. All proceeds from the spectator fees, concessions,
& sponsorships will go towards our studio’s fundraising efforts which will
help students get to the Las Vegas World Martial Arts Event this upcoming July 7-10,
2026! Please no outside food/drinks/coolers.
FYI, only water will be allowed inside the gym.
Registration this year will be completely digital; using the
same system (Smoothcomp). Please
download the app and login with your credentials. You will have to scan your Smoothcomp ID QR
code to check-in at the event.
We are looking for sponsors for this amazing event. Sponsors will be rewarded by advertising
opportunities during and after the event!
Please see attached sponsorship packages. Any level of participation is truly
appreciated! First come, first serve, with a deadline of April 1st to
turn in all logos. Please contact Sensei

competitors.
