About This Event

International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship Gi & No-Gi | Ottawa, Ontario

Officially sanctioned by the Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canada Federation (SJJCANF).

The Canadian Open 2026 marks a historic milestone for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada:

As an international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, the Canadian Open is part of the global SJJIF competition circuit, operating across Canada, the United States, Mexico, China, Japan, and countries worldwide. This event officially places Canada on the international sport jiu-jitsu stage under a unified rule set and federation structure.

Hosted by SJJCANF, the Canadian Open brings together athletes from across Canada and around the world to compete in Gi and No-Gi divisions at the highest amateur level.

Welcome to the Canadian Open. This is more than just a tournament—it’s a key step in building the future of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada.

As a non-profit federation, the Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canada Federation (SJJCANF) exists to give back to the athletes. Every event we run is designed with one purpose: athlete development. From affordable registration and fair divisions to international-standard rules and professional event structure, our focus is on creating real value and opportunity for competitors at every level.

The Canadian Open also serves as an official qualifier for the upcoming SJJIF World Championship in Tokyo, Japan. All Adults/ Masters First-place winners in each division automatically qualify to represent Canada at the SJJIF World Championships, earning the opportunity to compete on the world stage under the Canadian banner.

Whether this is your first competition or part of a long competitive journey, you are helping build a unified, athlete-first pathway for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada.
