All athletes competing in Choke’s Junior Grappling Challenge must weigh in on the day of the event when their bracket is announced.

If your child is registered for both Gi and No‑Gi, they will be required to weigh in twice—once for each division.

Please ensure your athlete is dressed and inside the venue at least 1 hour before their bracket start time (this is not the time of their first match).

Athletes who miss their scheduled weigh‑in or weigh above their registered weight will be disqualified.

No refunds or credits will be issued for any weigh‑in‑related disqualification.

Important Information for Parents

Weight classes listed as “-50”, “-60”, “-70” mean your child must weigh UNDER that number while wearing their full uniform.

Before registration closes, please:

• Weigh your child with their Gi or No‑Gi uniform on

• Move them up a weight class if they are close to the limit

• Double‑check their weight again the week of the event

There will be NO weight allowances and NO exceptions on event day.

Any athlete weighing over their registered class will be disqualified with no refunds or credits.

• All divisions use a round‑robin format (not elimination).

• A points system will be used for scoring.

• The Sub‑Hunter ruleset prioritizes submission wins over points wins for medal rankings.

• Mighty Mite (4–6) divisions are non‑submission for safety.

• Divisions are formed using age, weight, and skill level.

• Athlete lists on Smoothcomp are not final brackets; brackets are created after registration closes.

• Large divisions may have matches capped at 4.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Brackets and schedule will be posted mid‑week before the event on Smoothcomp. Competitors will receive notifications when brackets are published.

Divisions will run in the following order:

1. Mighty Mite (4–6)

2. Pee Wee (7–9)

3. Junior (10–12)

4. Teen (13–15)

5. Juvenile (16–17)

Event time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Check‑in: Competitors must check in at least 30 minutes before their division begins.
