Brazilian Jiujitsu Tournament Format

**RULES:**

IBJJF Ruleset (Gi and No gi DIvisions)

Legal Techniques based on IBJJF age and rank requirements

*Certified referees and scorekeepers*

**BRACKETING**

Madison-style bracketing

Competitors grouped by : Age, weight, experience/belt rank

Tournament staff may combine divisions when necessary to ensure competitive brackets

**Match Length**

Kids: 4 minutes

Adults: 5 minutes

**Competition Format**

Round-robin pools whenever possible.

Every competitor guaranteed a minimum of 2 matches.

Most competitors will receive 3-4 matches.

Matches scored using standard IBJJF points and advantages.

**Standings**

Pool winners determined by:

Most wins

head to head results for the tie break.

**Awards**

Individual divisions:

Gold medals

Silver medals

Bronze medals

Team Awards:

1st place team trophy

2nd place team trophy

3rd place team trophy

**Team Scoring**

Gold: 9 points

Silver: 3 points

Bronze: 1 point

**Adult No-Gi Absolute Division(Madison bracketing single elimination) Cash Prizes:**

Men’s Absolute champion: cash prize

Womens Absolute champion: cash prize
