# East Coast Grappling - Winter Open 2026 > Competition in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada | January 24, 2026 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** Following our last event, the largest NB has ever seen, we are ready to roll again! Join us January 24, 2026 at Ecole Le Mascaret, 610 McLaughlin Dr, Moncton, NB E1A 4R6 for the EAST COAST GRAPPLING WINTER 2026 NO GI OPEN!!!! (**IMPORTANT NOTE: STORM DATE IS JANUARY 31, 2026 at same Location) Gi and No-Gi divsions for kids! ADCC Style rules and scoring for Teens and Adults! Juvenile, Men, & Women's Absolute Divisions! Read on for more info! KIDS DIVISIONS We will be offering both Gi and No-Gi divisions for kids. If you register for 1 division you get the other for only $40 more. This is a great chance to get lots of matches and experience. We will be following the standard BJJ Ruleset for kids divisions and matches will be 3 min in length. TEENS/ADULTS We are so excited to offer a new experience for local grapplers with this ADCC Style ruleset. Here is a highlight of what to expect: Match length: Teens 4 min, Adult Novice/Beg/Int 5 min, Adult Advanced 6 min First half of the match - NO POINTS Second half of the match ADCC Scoring as follows PENALTIES: SUBMISSIONS & BANNED TECHNIQUES BY DIVISION Teens: No slamming, no attacks on the legs, no scissor takedowns Adult: Beginner: No Slamming from Guard, Only Straight Ankle Lock, No knee reaping, no scissor takedowns, no spine twisting, no neck cranks, or compression of the body Intermediate: No Slamming from Guard, Only Straight Ankle & Knee Bar allowed below the waist, No Knee Reaping, No Scissor Takedowns, No Spine Twisting, No Neck Cranks, No Compression Locks on the Body Advanced: No Slamming from guard, all leg attacks legal, reaping is allowed, no scissor takedowns. Competitors are expected to be checked-in, weighed-in, warmed up and ready to compete 1 hour prior to their scheduled division. It is the athlete’s responsibility to be on weight and make sure they are registered in the correct weight division, rank, and team on the competitor list. In the occurrence that an athlete cannot make weight, he/she should contact us immediately before the registration MODIFICATION/CORRECTION deadline (March 20, 2024). On the day of the tournament, we will no longer accept registration corrections, athletes who fail to make weight will be disqualified with no refund. ALL adult divisions will be DOUBLE-ELIMINATION. Kids divisions will be DOUBLE-ELIMINATION.
