**Description:** This Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition will offer Kids, Juniors, Teens &amp; Juveniles in the Gi for all belt levels.

The SFBJJL - 2024 Everglades Youth Jiu-Jitsu Invitational will take place on March 15th, 2025 at the South Plantation High School located at 1300 SW 54th Ave, Plantation, FL 33317.  The event will offer Kids &amp; Juvenile divisions.  This is a Gi only tournamnet.

FEES:

Early Registration Fee before FRIDAY 01/31/2025 @ 11:59 PM

    Kids, Juniors, Teens &amp; Juveniles – $79

Normal Registration ends FRIDAY 02/21/2025 @ 11:59PM

    Kids, Juniors, Teens &amp; Juveniles – $94

Late Registration ends FRIDAY 03/07/2025 @ 11:59PM

    Kids, Juniors, Teens &amp; Juveniles – $109

All registrations must be received by Friday, March 8th by 11:59 pm

This tournament is double elimination.

AWARDS:

Medals will be awarded to the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place of each division.

Athletes will compete for the third place.

The top 3 academies and affiliations overall will receive team trophies.

Weight Divisions

1st Place = 9 pts

2nd Place = 3 pts

3rd Place = 1 pt

WEIGH-INS:

START: - One hour (1h) Before each division bracket starts.

END: - 15 minutes Before each bracket starts.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The athlete will check his/her weight with the Gi.

Example: Athlete's division bracket is scheduled to start at 10am, his division weigh in will start at 9am and end 15min before the first fight get called.

There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified. There is no tolerance on weight allowed.

Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions, if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund.

Example: -107.0 lbs (Rooster) means athlete must weigh 107.0 lbs or below with their Gi on, 107.1 lbs will result in a disqualification.

OTHERS:

Athletes who place in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event. All competitors must wear the GI on the podium. All the medals must be picked up at the event’s podium. SFBJJL is not responsible for shipping medals.

Each team can only have two athletes in the same division bracket (of age/weight/belt). If your team has more than 2 athletes in the same division, the professor needs to email support@sfbjjl.com prior to athlete correction deadline in order to create different teams for the same academy. This rule does not prevent you from registering for the event.

SFBJJL reserves the right to close registration when we reach full capacity, or on the day of the appointed event registration deadline, whichever comes first.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their valid form of photo identification (ID) to the officials(Adults only). Make sure you have it on hand

SFBJJL is dedicated to providing a positive and rewarding experience for all competitors, with a particular focus on ensuring that young athletes, including both boys' and girls' divisions, have the opportunity to participate in quality matches. In the event that a division has a limited number of registered participants, SFBJJL may merge categories based on weight and belt level, while maintaining fairness. Coaches will be notified in advance and will have the discretion to approve or decline these adjustments. Should there be a lack of available matches in a division, competitors are advised to refer to our refund and credit policy for further details.

COACHES:

Coaches with Black Belt ID cards will get in free; however,**only coaches with wristband will be allowed in the competition area.**We will also allow for assistant coach wristband(s) for academies with a qualifying number of registered athletes.

To accommodate assistant coaches we are going to provide wristbands based on the number of registered athletes for a given event.  The breakdown is as follows:

0 to 4 registered athletes – One Coach +  0 assistant coach wristbands

5 to 10 registered athletes – One Coach + 1 assistant coach wristband

11 to 20 registered athletes – One Coach + 2 assistant coach wristbands

Over 20 registered athletes – One Coach + 3 assistant coach wristbands

Penalties

Any coach who does not follow this code’s article, in or outside of the premises, will be prevented from joining their athlete(s) inside the competition area during the event.

Additionally, the coach, athlete, or the academy are subject to penalties, such as suspension of membership, participation in other events, or can be banned from SFBJJL sanctioned event sites.

Points will be awarded to the top 4 athletes in a division as follows:

ATTENTION COACHES:

All schools must be affiliated with SFBJJL, operate under a certified team, with their lead coach being promoted by a recognized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. We do not support unrecognized or self-promoted individuals in order to maintain our high standards within the BJJ practice.

If a team has multiple schools competing under one name, coaches will receive entry based on the number of students representing their specific school. The coach’s name will be at the door. Below is coaches’ breakdown:

Schools with 1 competitor and 10 competitor – 2 coaches

Schools between 11 and 20 competitors – 3 coaches

Schools with over 20 competitors – 4 coaches
