Head Instructor at Carlson Gracie Association Gym Professor Carlson is a living legend of the sport, an accomplished instructor and an experienced competitor. Carlson Gracie Junior, a 6th-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, was trained by his father, Carlson Gracie Senior. He currently serves as the Head Representative of the Carlson Gracie Association and is the head coach of the Carlson Gracie Academy located in Chicago, Illinois, where he relocated in 1996 from Rio de Janeiro. In addition to his BJJ expertise, he also holds a black belt in Judo under renowned Brazilian Judo master Georges Mehdi. Junior's extensive wrestling background includes a ranking in Greco-Roman Wrestling and a position on a Brazilian Greco-Roman team that competed throughout South America. Despite focusing on BJJ, Junior also won six titles as a Greco-Roman wrestler. He started teaching at his father's academy in Rio de Janeiro before moving to the United States. The Carlson Gracie schools have produced numerous successful students who have excelled in Jiu-Jitsu, as well as in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) or Vale Tudo. 5th Degree BJJ Blackbelt Professor Olavo is widely acknowledged as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend across the world.
He is considered as a BJJ pioneer in the Eastern part of the globe, having developed national programs in the UAE and Moscow before establishing his own team as part of the BJJ Temple in Phuket. Co-founder of the "Pound for Pound" BJJ Team Professor Sergio is the 5th black belt from Carlson Gracie Team. He is an icon of the sport and an internationally recognized competitor. He is 2 times World Masters Champion, a European No Gi champion and has an incredible 11 European titles in the Gi.
