About This Event
Ground Game Cup is an international submission grappling tournament where athletes compete under Submission Only rules in both GI and NO GI divisions.
The goal of the event is to create a dynamic and safe competitive environment while giving athletes as many matches as possible and the opportunity to test their skills against competitors from different clubs and countries.
The tournament is open to competitors of different ages and experience levels – from kids to adults and masters divisions.
All matches are contested under Submission Only rules.
Victory during regulation time can be achieved only by submission.
If no submission occurs during regulation time, the match proceeds to overtime.
During overtime, each successful offensive action is counted as +1 point.
If no submission occurs during overtime, the winner will be the athlete who:
Kids
Juniors
Adults
Masters
Weight divisions are designed to ensure fair competition and efficient tournament organization.
The organizer reserves the right to merge weight divisions within a 5 kg difference in order to provide athletes with more matches.
The tournament system depends on the number of competitors in each division:
The main goal of the organization is to ensure that competitors have as many matches as possible.
Official weigh-ins will take place:
Ground Game Cup Summer Malta 2026 offers cash prizes for athletes and teams.
⚠️ The prize pool will increase as the number of registrations grows.The amounts listed below are based on a minimum of 200 registered competitors.
The total prize pool for the Pro Absolute division is €800.
Prize distribution:
1st place – €500 2nd place – €200, 3rd place – €100
The Women’s Pro Absolute division has the same prize structure.
The Best Team of the tournament will receive a €500 cash prize.
Team points will be calculated as follows:
Gold medal – 5 points, Silver medal – 3 points, Bronze medal – 1 point
The team with the highest number of points will be awarded the Best Team title and the €500 prize.
The athlete who achieves the fastest submission of the entire tournament will receive:
€100
Every registered athlete participating in the tournament will receive an official Welcome Pack provided by Ground Game.
The welcome pack will include official gifts and products from the Ground Game brand.
