Parents and Students, We are excited to announce the 12th Annual Jeff Speakman's Kenpo 5.0 Southern States Regional Tournament. Tournament competition offers students the opportunity to put their training to the test while showcasing their individual talent, skill-level, and improvement. Parents, family, and friends are encouraged to come cheer on their student(s)! On-site parking will be available, but limited, so arrive early. The spectator fee/donation is $5 for adults and children 5 years and older. Outside food/drink (other than water) will not be allowed inside the tournament area. A snack bar will be available with all proceeds going toward fundraising efforts for our students to attend the Jeff Speakman World Martial Arts Event in Las Vegas. Agenda of the day of the tournament: 9:00am - Doors Open - Check-in / Weigh-in / Judges and Scorekeepers Meeting 10:00am - Competition will begin for our beginner ranks / Check-in & Weigh-in will remain open all day. We will be grouping competitors by rank & age and have them compete in all 4 back-to-back events. We will be releasing a list of reporting times as registration comes to an end If weight differs by more than 5lbs from registration form, you are not guaranteed to fight in the tournament. Divisions: Keeping with our organization's other tournaments, we will be offering**4 events:** **Forms:**Students may perform an exact Kenpo 5.0 form **Self-Defense:**Students perform a series of consecutive self-defense techniques **5.0 Fighting:**Competitors are allowed to strike and take down and will be judged on legal strikes, take down, and ground fighting skills **5.0 Grappling:**Competitors are not permitted to strike and are judged on take down/ground fighting skills Students will compete with their highest ranking between kids/teens/adults in all events. The exact divisions and check-in time will be provided as registration comes to an end. We are going to do our best to group students by rank and age and have them compete in all 4 divisions back-to-back. There may be limited instances where brackets will combine depending on the number of competitors. Each of the events above will be divided by rank brackets: White / Yellow / Orange Belts -**Beginners** Purple / Blue/ Green Belts -**Intermediate** Brown & Black Belts-**Advanced** Each of the rankings above may be divided up by age brackets: 7 & Under 14 - 15 Years 8 - 9 Years 16 - 17 Years 10 - 11 Years 18 - 34 Years 12 - 13 Years 35 & Over Medals will be awarded after each group completes an event. All brown and lack belts will have the opportunity to compete for Grand Championship in Forms and Self Defense!
