**Description:** For its fifth year running, Shoshinkan Martial Arts is the exclusive host of a National Kosen Shoshinkan tournament inviting members from all grappling disciplines such as Freestyle wrestling and all major Judo and Jiu-Jitsu US Associations

The tournament is held in Fabulous Las Vegas under USJA Kosen rules. All athletes from any grappling discipline will be able to compete. For folks not affiliated with USJA or USJFA temporary membership will be available at $10 to cover insurance requirements. please contact Ilana for assistance at Ilana@shoshinkanlv.com. Juniors (5 to
6 Years Old):       2 Minutes

*•   • No shime-waza (strangles) - under 7 Years Old*

Juniors (7
to 12 Years Old):     3 Minutes

*•   • No kansetsu-waza (arm locks) - under 13 Years Old*

Juvenile (13-16 Years Old):       3 Minutes

Senior Novice:                      4
Minutes (17 Years & Up)

Senior Brown/Black Belt        4 Minutes (17 Years & Up):

All Masters                           4 Minutes (30 years and older)

Novice may be grouped with Senior Novice due to the limited number of
competitors*

GOLD, SILVER & BRONZE MEDALS

As defined by current USJA Contest Rules

This event aims to promote Judo in a holistic approach, allowing for throwing techniques (Nage waza) and ground techniques (Ne-waza) to generate equal points and increase the tactics required to win.

Limited Golden Score of 2 minutes, except for Athletes 17 an over

GI IS MANDATORY - Judo Gis preferred. BJJ Gis may be allowed upon inspection of Tournament Director prior to day of event. It is the athlete and Coach responsibility to have the Gis approved in advanced. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

**BRING YOUR OWN BLUE AND WHITE BELTS**

Weigh-in must be validated no later than 6 pm day prior the event
