Kids will fight under the double elimination style format. See Juveniles & Kids section for more info.

We aim to offer each athlete a chance to fight, so we might have to combine some classes if there are too few participants. We strive to get at least three (3) athletes per class, but sometimes only two (2) is possible. The mixing of classes will follow the regulations stipulated by the Swedish BJJ Federation.

1) Age. For children there can be a maximum of 3 years between contestants. Kids and Juvenile will never be mixed. . Juveniles are eligible to compete against adults in the same belt.

2) Weight. For children there can be a maximum of 2 weight classes difference between contestants.

3) Belts. For children we will either mix white with gray and then yellow and up, or if necessary white - yellow and orange & up. For adults the only belt mixing allowed is female adult division brown and black.

4) Gender. Children under the age of 12 can be mixed across genders. From 12 and up there will be no mixing genders.

If a coach and the parents of an athlete feels that they should be fighting at a higher skill level, weight class or age group a special application should be sent to the federation for consideration. This decision is made on a case-by-case basis.

1. Move to a group with 1 belt difference (for example white to grey)

2. Move 1 year of age within same weight and belt.

3. Move 1 weight class within same age and belt.

4. Move 2 belts (for example white to yellow).

5. Move 2 years of age within same weight and belt.

6. Move 2 weight classes within same age and belt.

7. Move 3 years of age
