# National MMA League Round 6- Juniors & Seniors Event > Competition in Howth, County Dublin, Ireland | February 27, 2022 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** This competition will be ran under Novice MMA rules with Light Contact Striking only. This event take place in the official NMMAL 21ft competition cage. NEW** Age and Bout Duration: Junior A 8-12 years ) 1 round of 3 minutes 2022 International mixed martial arts federation & the Irish mixed martial arts federation. Youth C (Age 12-13), 1 round of 3 minutes Youth B (Age 14-15), 1 round of 4 minutes Youth A (Age 16-17), 3 round of 2 minutes Weigh-ins will take place before your bracket starts. 7oz/8oz sparring MMA gloves (pro gloves not allowed) Shin pads that cover toes (with no metal clasps) Gum shields and groin guards Shorts no zips Rash Guard No t shirts. This means that fighters are expected to strike with control and with no intent for a knock out. Fighters striking with excessive contact will get one warning, if this occurs again they will be disqualified. Straight shots only no looping shots. You are not allowed to slam, take downs must be done lightly if the opponents legs go over their head line you will be disqualified - take downs must be done with caution. All Elbow Strikes. All Knee Strikes. Spinning head / Spinning back kicks. Spinning Backfists. Slamming to escape submissions. Slamming when attempting a takedown. Lifting opponents hips over your head when attempting a takedown. Any form of neck crank. Heel Hooks, Knee Bars, Toe Holds. Head butts, eye gouging, fish hooking, spinal attacks or strikes directly to joints. No Guillotines for kids and teens, you can reverse position / use to get back up but can not finish as a submission. All Elbow Strikes Spinning head kicks Spinning Backfists All knee strikes Slamming when taking an opponent down Slamming to escape submissions Lifting opponents hips over your head when attempting a takedown Any form of neck crank Heel Hooks, Knee Bars, Toe Holds Head butts, eye gouging, fish hooking, spinal attacks or strikes directly to joints Hard striking - Striking with intent - Striking to ko - Striking without point scoring in mind. Unsportsmanlike conduct can lead to DQ. All other strikes to body and head while standing. Only strikes to the body are permitted when grounded. All other submissions apart from those detailed above. Novice: First ever Competition in any martial art form. Beginner: Less than 1 year of competing or training in any martial art form Intermediate: Over 1 year of competing or training in any martial art form Refunds - Event credits are issued only when a Athlete can not be matched by our match making team.
