About This Event
Following the successful first edition of the Grappling Dutch Open in 2023, NEDMMA x GAMMA, in cooperation with Event Organising Partner VON, proudly present the Grappling Dutch Open 2026 (GDO26) for all Grappling Athletes, Submission Artists & Mat Rats.
The GDO26 offers a professionally organised competition with experienced Event Officials, certified Referees and a qualified Combat Sports Physician present throughout the event.
All matches shall be conducted in accordance with the i.

Venue: Sporthallen Zuid – Hall 3, Burgerweeshuispad 54, 1076 EP, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Accredited GDO26 athletes and coaches are granted access to spectate the Yokoso Dutch Open 2026 (YDO26) in the adjacent sports hall, marking the 23rd edition of the Netherlands’ largest Olympic Kickboxing tournament.

Beginner (less than 2 years experience) – BEG

Age Categories, Experience Divisions and Weight Classes shall be applied strictly in accordance with Appendix 2 of the GAMMA x NEDMMA Grappling Competition Rules – No Gi.
The Organising Committee (OC) holds the right to decide which categories, divisions and classes are provided at the tournament. If the OC decides that other Weight Classes are necessary, this may only be done with written approval from NEDMMA prior to the event.
All listed Weight Categories shall be available in all Experience Divisions.

All matches shall be conducted in accordance with the GAMMA x NEDMMA Grappling Competition Rules – No Gi (Appendix 1).

All ABSOLUTE Class matches: 5 minutes
Overtime may be applied in the event of a tie, in accordance with the official Tie-Breaking procedures of the Ruleset.
The competition format is determined by the number of athletes per category:
2 athletes: Best of Three (minimum 2 matches)
3–5 athletes: Round Robin (minimum 2 matches)
6–10 athletes: Two pools followed by Cross Semi Finals (minimum 2 matches)
11–15 athletes: Double Elimination (minimum 2 matches)
16+ athletes: Single Elimination (minimum 1 match)
ABSOLUTE classes: Single Elimination (minimum 1 match)
Bronze medal matches apply in all brackets except categories with five (5) athletes or fewer. In such cases, third place shall be determined via the Round Robin results.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to adjust the draw system and to merge categories or divisions if deemed necessary due to registration numbers, while ensuring fair and safe competition.
Medals shall be awarded to all first-, second-, and third-place winners in each category, division, and class.
ABSOLUTE Class Champions shall additionally receive an and a .

Athletes must bring valid identification.
It is prohibited to fully strip down to make weight.
Weigh-ins, accreditation and scoring are conducted using the official federation Event Management System.
The Match day schedule is subject to changes due to unforeseen circumstances. If applicable, all registered athletes and this Event Information shall be updated
Pre-competition medical checks are not mandatory for Grappling competitions.
Athletes are advised to undergo annual medical screening.
By registering, athletes declare themselves medically fit to compete.
A qualified Combat Sports Physician will be present throughout the competition.
1 athlete = 1 coach
2 athletes = 1 coach
3–5 athletes = 2 coaches
6–10 athletes = 3 coaches
11+ athletes = 4 coaches
Only accredited coaches are permitted in designated areas.
