NJJF is returning to Carolina Courts - Indian Trail on August 29th for our 2026 Charlotte Samurai Series! Get in on the action this summer and earn your place on the NEWBREED podium.
Step onto the mats and compete for your chance to win exclusive, limited-edition Samurai medals. These custom-designed medals are only available at Samurai Series events, making them a prized addition to any competitor’s collection. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or stepping into your first tournament, this is your chance to test your skills.
Samurai series events feature teen No-Gi absolute divisions for both boys and girls, giving young athletes the chance to showcase their abilities. The champions of these divisions will be awarded a classic NEWBREED Samurai sword, symbolizing their dominance and warrior spirit. This is an exciting opportunity for any teen looking to take their game to the next level and claim a truly unique prize.
For adult competitors, the stakes are just as high. Champions of the men’s and women’s absolute divisions will be rewarded with an exclusive Samurai championship belt and a cash prize. These divisions are expected to bring out some of the most talented competitors, making for thrilling match ups and intense battles. Do you have what it takes to take home the belt?
This event will be a qualifier for The Ultimate Grappler (TUG). The winner of the No-Gi absolute division will secure their spot at the TUG Finale in Coral Springs, FL on November 6th and a chance to win the $5,000.00 grand prize.
Team points are calculated to determine the top three teams in both youth and adult categories as well as the overall champion. All seven teams receive an award banner to hang proudly in their academy. First-place teams also take home one of a kind Samurai Series trophies.
