About This Event
Introducing the NJJF Spartanburg Samurai Series. As usual the tournament is open to all age groups but for ages 16 and up we have added absolute divisions for all skill levels. White through black in Gi and beginner through advanced in No-Gi. You must first qualify at the event by placing first in your bracket. The first place winners in these absolute divisions will receive the Custom NEWBREED Hanzo sword. Don't miss this great opportunity to add a unique award to your collection. Your health is our number one concern and we will be taking extra precautionary measures. Here are just a few of the additional measures we will be implementing:
-Doors open at 8:00 am and the tournament starts promptly at 9:30 am.
-Competitors are required to be present 60 minutes before their match start time.
-Brackets and the event schedule will be posted on the Thursday prior to the event.
-You can access these by visiting the “Brackets & Schedule” tab.
-A REAL-TIME schedule by bracket and REAL-TIME schedule by match order will be featured on large TV monitors at the event allowing you access to the most up-to-date information available.
-During the event, you will be able to access this information from your mobile device.
-Competitors must be in Fighter Bullpen 15 minutes prior to your match time.
-Please be ON TIME to your designated mat to keep the tournament running on time.
-$89.00 registration, $12.00 spectator, FREE event tee.

-Vouchers for future tournaments can be requested for any reason until NOON on the day before the event.
-Voucher requests must be made by email (info@newbreedbjj.com).
-Any voucher requests received after 5 PM on the final registration deadline will be discarded.
-Vouchers are good for one year from the tournament date.
-Vouchers are valid at any of our events nationwide.

-Only valid for female competitors that are competing the Women’s Gi and/or NoGi division.

-Teammates, cousins, coaches and students DO NOT qualify for the family discount packages.

-4 competitor family discount - $80.00 per person (early reg); $100.00 per person (normal reg)

-Weigh-ins will take place on Saturday only.
-You must weigh in 15 minutes prior to your division start time. If you are late for weigh-ins, you WILL be disqualified and NO voucher or refund will be given. So, please consider drive time, traffic and time to find parking as these will NOT be valid reasons for missing weigh-ins.
-You do not have to weigh in with your Gi on.
-You only have to weigh in once, even if participating in multiple divisions.
-We have a 1 pound allowance policy.
-For competitors 16 years of age and older: you WILL be disqualified and NO refund or voucher will be given.
-For competitors 15 years of age and under: we will do our best to accommodate you and move you into a new bracket. THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED. If there are no available fights, we will provide a voucher for future use but NO refunds will be given.

-This is a REAL-TIME list that updates automatically as competitors register.
-You can make changes to your registration until 11:59 PM on the day of the final registration deadline (Tuesday prior to the event).

-Waiting on coaches not only holds up a single competitor’s match but has a domino effect on the rest of the event. It is for this reason that we will no longer wait on coaches to finish at one mat before beginning a match at another. Please keep this in mind when planning on the number of coaches to bring to each event.
-Coach’s passes will be provided free of charge depending on the number of competitors from your school.
-3-10 competitors: 2 Coach’s Passes
-11-15 competitors: 3 Coach’s Passes
-16-20 competitors: 4 Coach’s Passes
-21+ competitors: 5 Coach’s Passes
-For competitors on the mat that are ages 13 and under, we will allow one coach per competitor inside the barricades.
-For competitors 14 years of age and over, we will NOT allow any coaches inside the barricades.
-If you need to bring more coaches than the number of passes provided, they are available for purchase for $5.00 each at the door.
-Parents are NOT allowed to purchase coach’s passes unless there is not a coach from your academy present.
-Results are REAL-TIME and will be automatically posted on the TV monitor at the awards booth beside the podium as well as on the event page.
