**Description:** Kombatan Göteborg IF with support from the Swedish Martial Arts Federation (Svenska Kampkonstförbundet) will be hosting the Kombatan European Championships 2019 on the 5th October in Göteborg. The competition will have over 30 competitors from 8 different nations, the very first international event of this type in Sweden!

The tournament will be held at Aktiviten Mölndal. Doors open at 09:00. Admittance is Free!

​The European Kombatan Championships 2019 will be held in Göteborg on the 5th October, ​in the following categories:

- Single Stick fighting / Male division, students

- Single Stick fighting / Male division, lakans

- Single Stick Fighting / Female division

THE ORGANIZER

Kombatan Sweden together with the Swedish Martial Arts Federation (Kampkonstförbundet) are hosting this event in order to promote Kombatan and FMA in general in Sweden.

GOALS WITH THE TOURNAMENT

The European Kombatan Championships fighting system aims to be somewhere between the original WEKAF style of competition, using a lot of protection with light sticks, and other styles of competition using less protection with heavier sticks. Thus, the emphasis will be less towards corto play in favor of a largo and medio style of play, although with padded sticks.

Another goal of the Swedish tournament is to have as many different countries participating as possible (it is a European Championship, after all), Thus, roughly an amount of 5 slots is currently given to each country, so practitioners from other FMA styles who do stickfighting are encouraged to apply.

APPLICATION

The European  Kombatan Championships is primarily open for members of European Kombatan Association, which will be given priority to practitioners from other styles.
