# PEAK GRAPPLING WINTER CLASSIC 2026 > Competition in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada | February 21, 2026 – February 22, 2026 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** • Youth / Juvenile/ Adult tournament with Tag teams and KUMITE brackets. • Kids matches will run for 3 minutes in length. Youth 12-15 years of age 4 minute rounds, juveniles 5 minutes. • We will be following the IBJJF attack rules in regular bracketed divisions as well as our KUMITE divisions. Kids KUMITE divisions are sub only within 3 mines, dual round elimination. • Door opens for competitor weigh in at 8:00am. Athletes meeting begins at 830am • Competition starts at 9 am. • Automatic discounts are applied to double/ triple division registrations. • PEAK ALLOWS A 1 LB. WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR ALL YOUTH registered into the tournament. • There will be Kids/ Youth Tag Team Kumite for this event. 3 vs 3 (Co-Ed optional for those under 11) for a total combined weight. See Registration description for details. Registration is dependant on final format and will determine the feasibility of the brackets as for adults, reach out to us and we can discuss details regarding weight limitations for your teams. • There is no weight allowance for adults. Being over the weight that you are registered into will result in immediate disqualification unless you were specifically moved into a category to find matches. We're glad to present athletes with a special incentive to bolster their experience at our event. In doing so, we will off an additional discount on registration of $10 (per entry) for each referral who registers and pays for a Gi or Nogi or KUMITE bracket. Each entry from your referral will garner you a $10 discount for example: "Athlete A" refers "athlete B" who signs up for Gi + Nogi + a KUMITE bracket. Athlete A will receive a $30 discount to their own registration. Athlete B now refers "Athlete C" and "athlete D" who both happen to register and pay for Gi + Nogi + KUMITE brackets. Athlete B will now receive a discount of $60 off their own registration. Maximum usage per athlete is 2 x referrals which means you can save an additional $10- $60 for your own registration once the athletes you refer, register and pay. We will cap the discounts at 3 registrations per athlete, even if athlete "A" refers athlete "B" who signs up for 4 categories. This means that athlete "A" can only receive $30 off their registration per referral, up to 2 max referrals totalling $60 in discounted registration fees. **To qualify for discounted referral offers, you must send us an email with the names of your friends who register and we will make note of who to give the discounts to.** If you are interested in getting on our super fight list, please email us with your details and we will contact you once we have a match. In the event that a kid executes an illegal attack, they will receive a warning as well as a penalty. The second offence will result in an automatic DQ. • ILLEGAL MOVES THAT WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION: SCISSOR TAKE DOWNS, SLAMMING, NECK CRANKS. • All the competitors must wear uniform according to IBJJF guidelines. • ALL kids are allowed to wear rash guards for this competition. • Nogi shorts/ compression pants must NOT have any type of pockets as they pose risks to all athletes. • Submissions will be allowed in all age groups/ brackets. Athletes must comply with IBJJF kids rules. • All BJJ Brown belts compete on the PEAK platform for 50% OFF.
