# PEAK JIUJITSU March Madness (Edmonton) > Competition in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada | March 29, 2025 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** • Youth / juvenile/ Adult tournament with a round robin elimination. • Kids matches will run for 3 minutes in length. • We will be following the IBJJF rules and regulations. • Door opens for competitor weigh in at 8:00am. Athletes meeting begins at 830am • Competition starts at 9:00am. • PEAK ALLOWS A 1 LB. WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR ALL YOUTH registered into the tournament. • Regular bracketed divisions: Kids are guaranteed 2 matches if there are 2- 3 athletes in their brackets, 3 matches if there are 4 in their bracket and 4 matches if there are 5 athletes in their brackets. We will cap the matches at 4 if there are 5 or more athletes in a bracket. KUMITE brackets, we operate a Single Round Elimination (SRE) which means that if the athlete's lose they get knocked out of the bracket. The top three placings will receive special prizes designed by our team. Cash Prize KUMITE for Adult Mens Blue & Purple belts. • There is no weight allowance for adults. Being over the weight that you are registered into will result in immediate disqualification unless you were specifically moved into a category to find matches. • We're planning super fights in the late afternoon of this event. In this case they will grapple for points unless both parties agree they're okay to grapple for submissions. Athletes must comply with IBJJF kids rules. • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place athletes will receive a customized medallion, by our sponsors Bandage Sports Therapy and RFG Meat & Seafood and Fox Boxing. Lost or unclaimed medals will NOT be mailed out to athletes. It is your responsibility to claim and place your medals in a safe place. • Special Awards are given throughout the day. These include: our popular "MVG". This is the tournament Most Valuable Grappler (MVG). Our Heart Awards, Sub of The Day, Fastest Submission and our prestigious KUMITE Awards for the top 3 finishers in each KUMITE division. By registering into the tournament, you agree to give your email to the PEAK JIUJITSU collective for special promotions into the up coming events and athletic products that we provide to make your experience a fulfilling one.
