# ROGUE Grappling - The Return > Competition in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada | August 21, 2021 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** Well, it's been a while, folks. As we look forward to October with anticipation, we realize it's been a long time since we've gotten together. Too long, in fact. While we normally host a "regular season" event every August, this year has been strange for a lot of reasons. Since we have been away since January 2020 in Covid, we have a lot of rust to shake off. As a result, we're looking to put together a "mini" tournament to help us get back into the swing of things and be ready for the return of our Regular Season this October. ROGUE Grappling - The Return will be a limited capacity event. We're limiting participants to help us remember how to run an event over Smoothcomp (read: tech support!), a chance for our officials/refs (new and returning) to get a feel for it again, and allow kids and beginners* a chance to get out and experience a competitive event in a smaller setting, get used to Smoothcomp, etc. It will be open to the following - Kids/Youth of any experience level Adult Female of any experience level Adult Male of ~3 years experience or less (basically white belts or pretty fresh blues) Since this is not a typical ROGUE Grappling event, registration fees are dramatically discounted as this event will be smaller in scope, helping us to remember how to host these things =) Also please note the event and first matches will be starting later in the day as with a smaller group of competitors we won't need a full day. *Whereas Adult Females brackets tend to have smaller participation numbers, we are opening the Adult Female registrations to all experience levels. NoGi Beginner - less than 3 years experience in BJJ and/or submission grappling. NoGi Intermediate - 3 to 5 years experience in BJJ and/or submission grappling. NoGi Advanced - 5+ years experience in BJJ and/or submission grappling. **Weight Divisions**Men < 145, 146 - 160, 161 - 175, 176 - 190, 191 -205, 206+ Women < 130, 131 - 145, 146 - 160, 161 - 175, 176+ **Note**: Divisions may be combined, amended or created depending on registration. Rules (NoGi) Kids divisions, Under 9 years old - no submissions permitted; points only Kids divisions, 10 - 12 years old - No standing guillotines, omoplatas, pulling the head in a triangle or submissions below the waist Kids and Youth divisions, 13 - 17 years old - Nothing below the wait, no cranking or reaping Adult, Beginner - Nothing below the waist except straight ankle lock Adult, Intermediate - Knee bar, Toe hold, Straight ankle and Wrist lock permitted Adult, Advanced - All IBJJF Black Belt legal submissions except heel hooks; knee reaping is permitted (ie. a position like 4/11 will not result in a stoppage or DQ) No jumping guard. No scissor takedowns from standing. No slams. Match Length Kids and Youth - 3 minutes Adults - 5 minutes Registration, Pricing and Weigh Ins Weigh ins will be done in your competition clothing. Failure to make weight could result in a disqualification without refund. Please note that divisions may be combined or created depending on registrants at any given weight division or experience level. Divisions will be grouped together as close as possible by weight and experience level and are dependent on registrations. Early Registration starts July 9th @ 9h and continues through August 15th @ 23h59. Late Registration starts August 16th @ midnight and continues through August 18th @ 20h. Weigh Ins will run from 8h30 through 10h, Kids matches will begin at 9h30. You will be afforded a 1 lb. allowance. Kids and Youth, Early Registration - $25 Adult Men, Early Registration - $40 Adult Women, Early Registration - $30 Kids and Youth, Late Registration - $35 Adult Men, Late Registration - $50 Adult Women, Late Registration - $40 Refund Policy We will offer a 100% refund for cancellations received until August 15th @ 23h59 and a 75% refund for cancellations received between then and August 18th @ 20h.
