# Submission Grappling Nationals (October 19) > Competition in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand | October 18, 2024 – October 19, 2024 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** Stealth Grappling welcomes you to our biggest tournament of the year! On October 19th, we'll be crowning the National Champions of Submission Grappling. Come prove yourself as one of the best submission artists in the country. Event Date: Saturday 19th October Location: Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre, 595 Te Atatu Road Parking: Large carpark around the back of the building and plenty of street parking Doors open: 9am Weigh-in time: Open from 9am (see the 'Weigh-in' tab for more details) Rules briefing: 9.45am Matches start: 10am Spectator fee: $20 per adult ($10 for parents/coaches), $5 per child aged 5-12 (under 5s are free) Kids & Youths: Pay 1 price for 2 divisions Adults: Pay 1 price for 4 divisions Early registrations - $85 Normal registrations - $105 Late registrations - $125 Divisions will be visible the entire time so you know who's signed up ahead of time, and brackets will be released 2 days prior to the event. Any requests for extra-late registrations will incur an additional $30 fee, to account for the manual work we have to do - save us the hassle and yourself the money, and don't leave it to the last minute! Submission Focus: Our submission-based circuit prioritizes the essence of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — mastering the art of submitting opponents through technique and skill. This format fosters an environment where competitors are encouraged to pursue submissions, leading to more dynamic and engaging matches. Round Robin: Unlike single elimination formats, our round robin bracketing system provides competitors with multiple match opportunities within their division. We believe in maximizing the benefits of every competition, ensuring that each participant leaves with a wealth of experience. Prizegiving will be held as soon as the division ends - if you place 1st, 2nd or 3rd, please go straight to the podium to receive your medal.Gi divisions will be run first, then no-gi - If you're competing in both divisions and you medal in your gi division, please go straight to the podium to receive your medal, before changing into your no-gi gear. Athletes who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their divisions will receive high quality gold, silver and bronze medals, in our fully spec'd 100mm design we reserve just for Nationals. We're always looking for people to help us with setup & packdown (2-3 hours physical labour) in exchange for either free registration or a free set of Stealth apparel of your choice! If you wish to edit your registration (change skill or weight class), you can do this any time up until registrations close, by going into your Smoothcomp account, finding the registration, and clicking 'Edit'. If you get injured before registrations close, you can process a full refund yourself at any time, by cancelling your entry from your Smoothcomp account. So don't worry about paying for your entry and then getting stuck out of pocket - we've got you covered. If you are injured between registrations closing and the start of the tournament, you are entitled to a full credit for use at any of our future competitions - please email us at info@stealthgrappling.com to arrange this. If you're still alone when registrations close, we'll attempt to find a suitable division by merging you up one category in either age or weight. If we still cannot find you a division or you're unhappy with a merge, then we'll process a full refund. So don't worry about paying for your entry and then getting stuck out of pocket - you'll either get matches or your money back. We send out emails on the Wednesday and Thursday prior to the competition containing important information regarding the groupings and brackets, and provide the opportunity to request/question any changes made to your division.
