About This Event
It is our mission to provide athletes with a platform to compete against the best grapplers in Canada and from abroad, while offering developing competitors an opportunity to showcase their skills at a grass-roots level.

We strongly suggest that athlete registration is completed and finalized before making any travel arrangements.
No close-outs or fake matches. If a match is deemed to be fake, athletes will be disqualified & forfeit prize.
Any false information provided during registration such as, but not limited to, date of birth, may lead to immediate disqualification. Such actions are subject to suspension or even banishment from future events.

It is the responsibility of the athlete to know the rules and guidelines pertaining to the sport as outlined in the IBJJF Rules Book.
Government-issued photo ID is mandatory for 16+ categories. Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show a valid photo ID to the officials; make sure you have it on hand.
Competitors must be at the venue ready to compete a minimum of prior to the start time for their division in case the tournament is running earlier than expected. The division start time, posted in the event’s schedule, is only an estimated time. The division start time can vary throughout the event day due to several factors that are beyond our control. SmoothComp live updates times and event progress regularly (browsers need to be refreshed).
The official weight measurements of this event is POUNDS. Official weigh-in will occur immediately before the first fight. Only 1 attempt to make weight is allowed. Athletes will be disqualified in their division if they weigh in heavier than the weight listed for the division they registered in. THERE ARE NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCES.
Zero Tolerance for Abuse - We have a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of abuse or aggression toward our staff. Anyone engaging in such behaviour will be asked to leave immediately.

Athletes who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.
All the medals should be picked up at the event's podium. True North Grappling Ltd. does not mail out unclaimed or lost medals after the competition.
Championship Belts for ALL Adult OPEN Divisions blue belt and up with 10+ competitors!
Team trophies and medals must be picked up by the end of the event date. They will not be mailed out or be available for pickup at a later date.

Coach Registration
Each Academy with 10 or more registered competitors can have a MAXIMUM of 2 coaches. Less than 10 competitors will be allowed 1 coach per Academy.
- Ensure your Academy is correctly registered in Smoothcomp including affiliation. This will allow you to track your competitors and allow your students to register under the correct Academy name and affiliation. This will also ensure competitors from the same Academy will not be placed against each other in the first round of draws.
