# TRUE NORTH GRAPPLING SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP (June 18)

**Description:** It is our mission to provide athletes with a platform to compete at an international level against the best grapplers in Canada and from abroad, while offering developing competitors an opportunity to showcase their skills at a grass-roots level.

Venue opens: 8:00 AM

$20/family

All spectators over 10 years old must have a spectator pass to enter the competition area.  Admission passes can be purchased at the event.

 Free seating is available in the stands overlooking the competition site.

**Athletes register using their age as of the date of the tournament.**

**OPEN**- $30 (when registered in Gi and/or No-Gi)

We strongly suggest that athlete registration is completed and finalized before making any travel arrangements.

Any false information provided during registration such as, but not limited to, date of birth, may lead to immediate disqualification. Such actions are subject to suspension or even banishment from future events.

**Any athlete who is proven to be a black belt in judo, has fought MMA professionally, has an amateur MMA record or has proven experience in wrestling, Olympic wrestling or Greco-Roman wrestling, cannot participate in any True North Grappling Ltd. event as a white belt.*

Division or weight changes, errors or additions can be made by accessing your SmoothComp account.  No changes will be allowed after June 11, 2022.

It is the responsibility of the athlete to know the rules and guidelines pertaining to the sport as outlined in the IBJJF Rules Book.

 It is mandatory to have government-issued photo ID at all times for ages 16+. Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show a valid photo ID to the officials; make sure you have it on hand.

 Competitors must be at the venue ready to compete one hour prior to the start time for their division in case the tournament is running earlier than expected.  The division start time, posted in the event’s schedule, is only an estimated start time. The division start time can vary throughout the event day due to several factors that are beyond our control.

 The official weight measurements of this event is in POUNDS.  Official weigh-in will occur immediately before the first fight. Only 1 attempt to make weight is allowed.  Be advised the athletes will be disqualified in their division if they weigh in heavier than the weight listed for the division they registered in.  There are no weight allowances.

Athletes who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.

All the medals should be picked up at the event's podium. True North Grappling Ltd. does not mail out unclaimed or lost medals after the competition.

An event t-shirt is available for athletes (first come, first served; while supplies last) with early or normal registration which must be picked up at the event's t-shirt booth. We do not mail out or distribute unclaimed t-shirts after the tournament.

**TRUE NORTH GRAPPLING LTD. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE REGISTRATION WHEN CAPACITY HAS BEEN REACHED OR AT THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.**
