2 Brothers BFC (Banni Fight Combat) was founded in 1995 in Brazil by brothers Júlio César da Silva Lima and Sandro da Silva Lima. Both trained under Mestre Banni Cavalcanti, who was a student of the legendary Mestre Carlson Gracie. This lineage traces back through Carlos Gracie and Hélio Gracie to the roots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The brothers represented Banni Fight Combat in numerous jiu-jitsu championships and vale-tudo battles during the era when fighters competed without gloves. The two brothers grew up in a large family of fighters and warriors. In 1999, Júlio traveled to Hawaii to train with his friend Marcelo Tigre at Team Tiger Academy, where he also taught classes. Upon his return to Brazil, Sandro emigrated to Portugal in 2000, opening an academy in Costa da Caparica and becoming instrumental in spreading Jiu-Jitsu throughout Portugal. Meanwhile, Júlio assumed command of the team in Brasília. The brothers' lives became divided between Portugal and Brazil, teaching and influencing generations of students. Today, the team continues to grow with over 20 years dedicated to teaching Jiu-Jitsu. 2 Brothers BFC has expanded internationally with academies in Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, Angola, and Belgium. The Angola branch in Lubango represents the team's commitment to spreading the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu throughout Africa. The academy follows the traditional values of loyalty and family that define 2 Brothers BFC, maintaining the lineage of Mitsuyo Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Hélio Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Banni Cavalcanti.
