**Name:** CheckMat/Equipe 1

**Description:** CheckMat Equipe 1 is the original headquarters of CheckMat, one of the world's most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams. Founded in 2008 by Master Leo Vieira alongside his brothers Ricardo Vieira and Leandro Vieira, along with Chico Mendes and Sebastian Lalli, CheckMat quickly rose to prominence as one of the most prestigious teams in the global BJJ community. The team has produced numerous world champions, including Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida, widely considered the greatest BJJ competitor of all time.

Located in the Água Verde neighborhood of Curitiba, Paraná, CheckMat Equipe 1 serves as the matriz (headquarters) of the CheckMat network, which now has over 315 affiliate schools worldwide. The academy embodies the CheckMat philosophy of taking jiu-jitsu and discipline seriously, developing champions both on and off the mats.

Under the leadership of Professor Sebastian Lalli (black belt), CheckMat Equipe 1 offers world-class BJJ instruction following the proven CheckMat curriculum that has produced countless champions at all levels.
