Athlas for Good Instituto

Jiu Jitsu for Good is a transformative social project operated by the Athlas Training Team, dedicated to empowering and inspiring children in Rio de Janeiro's underserved communities. The initiative goes beyond traditional martial arts training, offering underprivileged youth a pathway to a better life through the values of respect, discipline, and resilience that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu embodies.

The program provides three distinct pathways for youth development: training future Jiu-Jitsu coaches through comprehensive certification programs, developing competitive athletes with support from strength coaches, nutritionists, and psychologists, and offering education with principles including twice-weekly English language classes. The project emphasizes taking kids off the streets and giving them opportunities to become high-level athletes, instructors, or even establish their own Jiu-Jitsu academies in the future.

Jiu Jitsu for Good operates with a holistic philosophy that views the martial art not merely as sport but as a tool for building mental resilience, self-discipline, and respect. The project actively supports students in competing at local, national, and international levels, instilling values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication that extend far beyond the mats. Through partnerships with schools, community centers, and NGOs, the initiative creates comprehensive educational programs tailored to at-risk youth, providing mentorship and counseling to help them navigate challenges and build brighter futures.
