Operating as a social project ("Projeto Social"), the academy is dedicated to making Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu accessible to the community while upholding the team motto "Que sua coragem seja maior que seus sonhos" (May your courage be greater than your dreams).

As part of the Guigo Jiu Jitsu network, one of the fastest-growing BJJ teams in the world with over 46 years of history, Verbo BH carries forward a lineage rooted in excellence and championship tradition. Guigo Jiu Jitsu is led by founder Luiz "Guigo" Guilherme, a 5th-degree black belt under Jorge Pereira (student of Rickson Gracie), and has produced numerous world champions and maintains affiliates across Brazil and internationally.

The academy is led by Professor Thiago Carvalho Farias, who brings the Guigo team's technical expertise and competitive spirit to Belo Horizonte. The gym welcomes students of all ages and skill levels, offering authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in a supportive, community-focused environment.
