Unlike other traditional martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) does not use strikes or kicks. The focus is on controlling and dominating the opponent both standing and on the ground through technical superiority. The goal of the fight is to force the opponent to submit through a joint lock or choke.
