The club's vision centers on creating a safe and inclusive training environment where members not only train together but support each other's growth and development. Asmegin's approach focuses on building mental and physical strength, teaching students to embrace challenges, learn from failures, and develop perseverance. The name "Asmegin" means "godly strength" in Old Norse, reflecting the club's belief in Jiu-Jitsu as a transformative force that builds character, self-control, and self-awareness. The name also honors Vallentuna's connection to the historic Runriket region.
With programs spanning from ages 4 to adult, Asmegin Jiu-Jitsu offers comprehensive training for the whole family. The children's programs emphasize four core values: being a good friend, listening, persevering through difficulty, and daring to try new things. Head instructor Peter Klysing brings extensive experience from MMA, Muay Thai, and submission wrestling before dedicating himself fully to BJJ in 2010. He is supported by a skilled team including Pierre (background in Kobudo and Judo, also runs Vallentuna Judo Club), Kenneth (competitive focus, experienced in MMA and Thai boxing), and other dedicated instructors.
