**Description:** B4L (Brothers For Life) Jiu Jitsu, formerly known as "Kings Lynn BJJ," is a long-standing dedicated BJJ and Grappling club within Kings Lynn, with a core of experienced, enthusiastic members who all share one thing in common: the love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The club prides itself on its welcoming, friendly attitude to anyone who wishes to train, regardless of experience, club affiliation, or fitness level.

BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) is a tried and tested grappling martial art based on taking your opponent down, gaining positional dominance, and ultimately finishing with a submission. Unlike some more traditional martial arts that have a syllabus centuries old and remain unchanged, BJJ is constantly evolving and adapting, allowing practitioners to be creative and develop their own style. The complexity and depth of techniques available—from takedowns using Judo and Freestyle Wrestling, to guards, guard passing, sweeps, and submissions ranging from chokes and joint locks to various body manipulations—makes BJJ an endlessly engaging pursuit.

### Manasses Filho - Black

**Role:** Head Instructor

**Bio:** Manasses Filho, originally from Curitiba, Brazil, began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1997 at the age of 15. In Curitiba, he trained at the legendary MMA gym Chute Boxe, as well as at renowned BJJ academies such as Gracie Barra and Arena Jiu Jitsu.

In 2008, he moved to Europe, and after earning his black belt in 2011, Manasses founded B4L Jiu Jitsu. Since then, he has taught and led seminars in schools across Brazil, Europe, and the UK. His expertise has also been sought by elite groups, including providing training and seminars for special forces such as the RAF in the UK.

When relocating to King's Lynn in early 2016, the existing local BJJ club (King's Lynn BJJ) quickly recognized the depth of knowledge and experience he brought. Sharing the same values, they welcomed him as head coach, where he continues to develop athletes and spread the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the philosophy of Brothers for Life.
