**Description:** Community-focused Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Walthamstow, East London. It started with two classes a week in a church hall in January 2025 and is now a full-time academy with over 2,000 sq ft of mats, changing rooms and showers. Gi and No-Gi fundamentals, intro classes, wrestling for No-Gi, open mats, Muay Thai, and youth classes for ages 5-15 (max 10 students per coach, Enhanced DBS-checked coaches). Free trial class and a 4-week intro course for beginners; memberships from GBP 85 a month (2 classes/week) to GBP 130 unlimited.

**Bio:** Christopher "Chris" Macken is a British Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and No-Gi specialist whose game is built around submission grappling and leg locks. He has competed and taught across the UK and internationally, including on Polaris, and competes on the UK circuit for Elevate Richmond at events such as the ADCC UK National Championships, the No-Gi British Open and NAGA London.

He is a lead BJJ instructor at E17 BJJ in Walthamstow, London, where he teaches the Friday all-levels class. His coaching focuses on explaining not just what works but why it works, in a relaxed and approachable atmosphere.
