Subconscious Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

The academy is led by two highly distinguished fourth-degree black belts. Founder and head instructor Brent Burniston received his black belt from the legendary Jean Jacques Machado in 2009 and was later promoted to fourth degree by Roger Gracie. As one of Machado's top black belts, Brent was regularly selected to teach at the prestigious Tarzana academy and assist in seminars with martial arts icons like Dan Inosanto. Known for his innovation and detailed instruction, Brent is a regular guest instructor at the world-famous Grapplers Retreat alongside legends such as Roger Gracie, Xande Ribeiro, and Caio Terra. In 2015, he was appointed as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Advisor to the UFAF, founded by Chuck Norris.

Association director and instructor Nicolas Gregoriades is a South African grappler who holds the distinction of being the first practitioner promoted to black belt by the greatest grappler of all-time, Roger Gracie. An accomplished competitor and national champion in both South Africa and England, Nic is also the author of "The Black Belt Blueprint" and "Beyond the Black Belt." He is widely regarded as one of the best instructors working today, known for his holistic, conceptually-based approach to teaching and his 'Spirit of Jiu-Jitsu' and 'Soul of Jiu-Jitsu' short films.
