**Description:** We offer classes for kids, teens, and adults. We specialize in real-world self defense tactics as well as tournament-oriented jiu jitsu.  

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the most effective and efficient forms of self defense. Tracing it roots back to the battlefields of samurai,  jiu jitsu utilizes joint locks, chokes, timing and leverage to dominate aggressors. In the early 1900’s, Japanese practitioners migrated to Brazil to spread the art. It was at this time Carlos Gracie Sr. and Helio Gracie, the forefathers of BJJ, began studying these battle-tested techniques. Over several decades, the Gracie family adapted and improved upon them and eventually showcased their art to the world in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
