Malachy Friedman carries a distinguished lineage: Mitsuyo Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Ricardo Liborio → Malachy Friedman. In 2015, Malachy and Sarah brought their experience and knowledge back to Malachy's hometown of Charleston to open Black Label Martial Arts Academy. At Black Label Martial Arts, they are more than a gym—they are a community dedicated to helping every student achieve their personal best and build a stronger, more confident version of themselves. For over a decade, they have approached every class with unwavering dedication, earning them recognition as one of the best MMA camps in the Southeast.
