**Description:** Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on using technique and leverage to overcome an opponent.  Superior leverage and knowledge of grappling positions allow students of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to safely control and overcome larger and physically stronger opponents.

Our students study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a variety of reasons.  Many are interested in learning effective techniques for self defense.  Others are interested in competing in grappling tournaments or mixed martial arts events.  And some just enjoy the mental challenge and improved physical fitness that comes with studying this martial art!
