**Description:** 127 BJJ has been proudly serving the Manayunk, Roxborough, and East Falls sections of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 2009. The gym is committed to quality instruction of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, no-gi grappling, and self defense in a safe and friendly environment. Beginners are welcome with no prior martial arts experience necessary.

The gym is led by head instructor Eamon Knittel, a 4th degree black belt with over 24 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu experience. Eamon started training BJJ in the mid 90's and in 1998 met Rosendo Diaz, continuing to train and teach at the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for 11 years. In 2008, Eamon was promoted to black belt by Rosendo Diaz, David Adiv, and Royler Gracie. He opened 127 BJJ in Manayunk in 2009 and is also a certified IBJJF black belt.

127 BJJ offers a tight-knit training environment where students receive excellent attention to detail and personalized instruction rather than one-size-fits-all training. The gym also offers floating morning classes, open mats, and guest seminars to complement the regular training schedule.

**Role:** Head Instructor

**Bio:** Eamon started training BJJ in the mid 90's. In 1998, he met Rosendo Diaz and continued to train and teach at the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for 11 years. In 2008, Eamon was promoted to black belt by Rosendo Diaz, David Adiv and Royler Gracie. In 2009, Eamon opened up 127 BJJ in Manayunk. **Description:** Gi Jiu Jitsu is grappling with the use of a traditional Gi, which can be useful for certain types of grappling techniques. A traditional gi or &#39;kimono&#39; is based on the traditional kimonos worn in Japanese martial arts such as judo since the 1920s.

**Gi Requirement:** No-Gi

**Description:** No Gi is a BJJ style in which you don&#39;t have to wear a Gi uniform. No Gi is generally geared towards people who have already taken a few foundations classes or who have come from another martial art.
