The gym is led by head instructor Eamon Knittel, a 4th degree black belt with over 24 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu experience. Eamon started training BJJ in the mid 90's and in 1998 met Rosendo Diaz, continuing to train and teach at the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for 11 years. In 2008, Eamon was promoted to black belt by Rosendo Diaz, David Adiv, and Royler Gracie. He opened 127 BJJ in Manayunk in 2009 and is also a certified IBJJF black belt.
127 BJJ offers a tight-knit training environment where students receive excellent attention to detail and personalized instruction rather than one-size-fits-all training. The gym also offers floating morning classes, open mats, and guest seminars to complement the regular training schedule.
