With nearly 30 years of martial arts experience, Sensei Derek Stewart is arguably the best the Heartland has to offer.

As Nebraska’s first black belt promoted by Eddie Bravo in the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu System, Sensei Derek Stewart brings a progressive and modern approach to no-gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu instruction. Sensei Derek Stewart is also a 4th Degree black belt through the Otomi Martial Arts, a 3rd degree black belt in Kihido Karate, a 2nd Degree black belt in Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu under former world champion Shihan Daryl Johnson, and certified instructor in the progressive fighting arts.
