Founded by Professor Zezinho Mota, the academy teaches simple, effective Jiu-Jitsu for everyone, emphasizing self-defense, physical fitness, and mental development.

The gym follows the philosophy that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than just a martial art - it's a complete lifestyle brand. Training at 7 Seas develops balance, discipline, reflexes, muscle memory, self-control, courage, honor, loyalty, modesty, and kindness. The academy prepares students for both self-defense situations and competition, with a focus on building confidence that translates to all areas of life.

Head instructor Zezinho Mota brings extensive experience and a prestigious lineage: Mitsuyo Maeda → Carlos Gracie → Helio Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Ricardo De La Riva → Alexey Cruz Pickerell → Alexandre Quintella → Zezinho Mota. Born in Belém, Brazil in 1978, Professor Mota started training in 1997 under Alexandre Quintella (black belt under Master De La Riva). He has trained law enforcement, pro MMA fighters, and students across Brazil, Spain, and multiple U.S. states including Texas, Wyoming, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
