10th Planet Darlington is based at Evolution Martial Arts Academy. We offer instruction in Kickboxing and 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu; from children’s classes to adults. Luke Randell is Head Instructor at Evolution Martial Arts Academy and has been teaching here full-time since 2004. Luke started his training in Shukokai Karate in 1997 (aged 14), and gained his Black Belt after 5 years of consistent and focused training. From here Luke started to cross train in lots of different styles, training for over 5 years in Muay Thai and Boxing, after which he found Kickboxing, which remains his core style today alongside 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. In 2012 Luke received his 4th Dan in Combat Kickboxing, under World renowned Peter Consterdine of the British Combat Association.

10th Planet Denver head coach Conor Heun got his first taste of combat sports as a five year old stepping onto the wrestling mat in 1984. Nine years later he watched in disbelief as Jiu Jitsu master, Royce Gracie, choked wrestler, Ken Shamrock, into submission at UFC 1. Conor had won numerous state titles in Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling, competed collegetly at the NCAA tournament, and even traveled to France to compete in the Tour Du Monde world championships. He had racked up over 1000 wins in tournaments around the world yet he couldn’t forget the way Royce Gracie dominated the bigger, stronger wrestler at the first UFC. Determined to learn Jiu Jitsu, Conor studied every Pride and UFC fight he could get his hands on, but it wasn’t until he walked into The Bomb Squad Gym in 2005 and met Eddie Bravo that his life was changed forever. Eddie Bravo had gained notoriety after becoming the first person to submit Royler Gracie at the ADCC championships. Eddie was know for his open minded approach to Jiu Jitsu, taking effective techniques from everywhere and discarding anything that didn’t work, including the use of the traditional gi or kimono favored by the Gracie’s. Eddie saw Conor’s strong wrestling base and nonstop work ethic and took Conor under his wing, believing that he could be the one to introduce the world to the power of the 10th Planet system by competing in MMA.

Tracy has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combat Submission Wrestling since 2008 and earned his 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu black belt from Adlai Cleveland in 2021. His vast grappling background includes techniques from gi and no-gi Jiu Jitsu, submission wrestling, Judo & Sambo. Eddie Bravo, a 3rd degree black belt under the legendary Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master Jean Jacques Machado, started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in May 1994. He won the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Abu Dhabi North American Trials lightweight division on October 5, 2002, in San Diego, California — earning the “Most Technical Fighter of the Night” award. He then advanced to the 2003 Abu Dhabi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships in San Paulo, Brazil, where he secured a submission win over legendary Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter Royler Gracie. The Abu Dhabi Championship is the most prestigious Brazilian Jiu Jitsu no gi tournament in the world. A historic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rematch took place 11 years later in Downtown LA Los Angeles between Royler Gracie and Eddie Bravo, resulting in arguably the greatest rematch in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu history with the epic match ending in a technical draw. Since then Eddie Bravo has published 4 books on no gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, released 3 DVDs on no gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and is currently filming his popular Brazilian Jiu Jitsu online web-series Mastering the System. He is also known for his mixed martial arts commentating on the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Manny was born in California and raised between Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Manny started his jiu jitsu journey training under the late Orlando Sanchez at Gracie Barra in Pasadena, California before transferring to 10th Planet HQ in Los Angeles and becoming a Purple Belt under Master Eddie Bravo. After moving to Austin with his family in 2018, he joined and helped coach the 10th Planet Austin team. Steven Thompson is Eddie Bravo’s first Black Belt in Scotland and the second one in the UK . He runs the only official 10th Planet School in Scotland. He has been training in Jiu Jitsu for over 20 years .He is also trained in Japanese Ju Jitsu and has fought MMA. Steven likes to compete and has already won the Heavyweight NAGA UK Belt in Birmingham , and stepped up 3 weight brackets and took Silver at Super Heavyweight as well. He has also won Silver at the European NAGA finals in France.

Juan started his journey in jiu jitsu when he first tried training at a local MMA gym in Yuma, AZ back in 2009. After his first class he knew he was hooked and got the jiu-jitsu bug. Soon after, he moved back home to Mesa, AZ where he continued his journey training under John Botello in January of 2012. Throughout his journey training, Juan has tested his skills and limits through various competitions from NAGA, Fight To Win, West Valley Rumble, and more as well as took on the role as morning class instructor at 10th Planet Phoenix. Almost a decade from his first introduction after countless hours of training, competing, and teaching, Juan received his Black Belt in 2021. Andrew Alexander, is a black belt under Eddie Bravo and the owner and instructor of 10th Planet Grants Pass. He was officially certified by Eddie Bravo to teach the system in October 2013. Andrew strives to help each student reach their full potential. He believes in the 10th Planet system and how it has helped him and changed his life for the better, and he wants each person who comes in the door to experience that too. Andrews passion is evident in his consistent training, competing, and achievements. He frequently travels to other 10th Planet schools to train and learn from others in order to better himself and better his own students. In 2012 Manny had his first MMA fight shortly after high school graduation and turned professional at 19 years old. Manny received his blue belt from Richie and Geo Martinez in 2016. Manny started training at 10th Planet Lombard in 2017 and received his purple, brown, and black belt under Eddie Bravo Black Belt and 10th Planet Lombard owner, Omar Ocasio. Quin is a 10th Planet black belt under Jon Blank. He is one of the rare talented individuals in the 10P community that created his own submission – a choke from rubberguard that he named the New York Necktie – that he has successfully used in competition. Quin has taught all levels of no-gi jiu jitsu to all ages for over 8 years. Zach is a lifelong martial artist, wrestling from the age of 6 through college at the division 1 level at Drexel University. He earned his black belt in jiu-jitsu under Marcelo Garcia in 2022. He has competed at the highest levels of professional MMA, including being the first Bellator Bantamweight champion and consistenly being ranked in the top 10 in the world during his time in the UFC. Since 2021, Zach has been the head MMA coach at Finishers MMA / 10th Planet bethlehem.
