## Bio

A rare black belt under Helio “Soneca,” Alan Belcher carved his grappling reputation inside the UFC cage rather than on the competition mats. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1984, he started martial arts at eight through karate and later played multiple sports through high school and junior college before returning to MMA when the sport resurged. Turning pro at 21, he entered the UFC at 22 with an 8-2 record and consistently showcased his submission grappling against elite opposition, proving that his Jiu-Jitsu was every bit as dangerous as his striking despite never pursuing a pure grappling career.
