## Overview

**Name:** Budo Jake

## Bio

Best known as the founder of BudoVideos, Budo Jake started in the traditional arts — earning an aikido black belt and living in Japan from 1999 to 2002 — before his wife dragged him into a Gracie Barra class in 2005, where he trained under Carlos Gracie Jr, Marcio Feitosa, Kayron Gracie, and Otavio Sousa. Awarded his black belt by ‘Carlinhos’ Gracie in 2013, he pivoted his distribution company toward grappling content and approached the IBJJF in 2009 to livestream the No Gi World Championship, the federation’s first ever live broadcast, a move that reshaped how the sport is consumed.
