## Bio

Born in Teresina, Piauí in 1997, Danilo Moreira started jiu-jitsu at age eight under Ariel Soares Teles (Delta Gold Team) before moving to Projeto Social Quartel General da Luta (PSQGL) under Luiz Majorzão, who later promoted him to black belt in July 2019. Because PSQGL lacked international reach, Moreira competed under Ares Jiu-Jitsu Academy while touring Europe and North America. His father Marcelo Carvalho Moreira, himself a black belt, was a key supporter. Two weeks after receiving his black belt, Moreira won gold at the IBJJF Floripa Winter Open.
