## Overview

**Name:** Dominique Bell

**Nickname:** Dom

**Date of Birth:** November 19, 1990 (age 35)

## Bio

A former U.S. Army soldier who discovered jiu-jitsu at a base in Germany in 2011, Dominique Bell rose through the ranks under André Galvão at Atos Headquarters in San Diego, earning his black belt in October 2018. Known for a methodical, pressure-based top game, Bell spent his early competitive years as a brown belt making noise in the no-gi circuit before transitioning fully to the black belt ranks. His path stands out in the modern era for its late start and military origin, a stark contrast to the typical childhood-athlete background of most elite grapplers.
