**Date of Birth:** November 12, 1974 (age 51)

## Bio

Eduardo ‘Brigadeiro’ Venâncio’s trajectory flipped after a teenage street altercation with Ryan Gracie and Jamelão at the Riviera Country Club, pushing him from Judo black belt at 16 into Jiu-Jitsu under Cláudio França. He earned his blue belt by placing second at the first Copa Riviera, then took over França’s gym when the core instructors migrated to the U.S., founding the Brigadeiro Jiu Jitsu association. Still climbing the ranks, he sought Ricardo De La Riva as his instructor, receiving his black belt from the guard master at age 20. His school expanded to Paraná and Brasília, and he was an early ambassador in Europe. In 2015 he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, returning to competition in the Masters division in 2016 and 2017.
