## Bio

A takedown specialist whose judo-infused standup game became his calling card, Henrique Cardoso was forged in the gym of his uncle and first coach, Alexandro Ceconi, in Criciúma, Santa Catarina. He started jiu-jitsu at 13 after a childhood spent on the football pitch, and his uncle’s time sharpening judo in South Korea directly shaped Cardoso’s accuracy on the feet. With Ceconi frequently abroad, Cardoso spent formative years under Eduardo Milioli of RGA, who awarded him purple and brown belts before Ceconi returned to grade him black alongside Richard Avila in April 2016.
