## Overview

**Name:** Jean Kleber

## Bio

From the shores of Natal, Jean Kleber found his footing first under Marcelo “Tigre” at 14, but the aggressive Vale-Tudo style pushed him toward Jair Lourenco, whose teaching clicked. Development came fast, regional titles piled up, and by 1995 he was instructing at the fledgling Kimura Academy alongside Lourenco and Marcio Freire. When Kimura merged with Nova Uniao to chase international competition, Kleber earned his black belt under Lourenco in 2001. He then planted Kimura’s first overseas flag in Portugal, later returning to Brazil briefly before accepting a franchise invitation to Boston, where his academy grew into a Massachusetts powerhouse.
