Michael Sanford

Michael Sanford was born on June 4, 1985 in Hicksville, NY. He started practicing martial arts at age 5 through boxing, then Kempo Karate at 7. He was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 18 and began training under Master Francisco Mansor, a red belt under Helio Gracie, where he earned his blue belt and became an assistant instructor. After moving to Florida, he continued training under Daniel Moraes and competing regularly for Team Moraes. Michael was personally recruited by Alan Belcher to move to Mississippi and serve as a full-time instructor for Alan Belcher MMA Club. On January 11, 2014, he was awarded his black belt in BJJ under Daniel and Diego Moraes.
