Taylor Pearman, a Checkmat black belt under Michael Langhi, emerged as a top middleweight competitor after a decorated colored belt run that included winning the 2019 IBJJF World Championship as a brown belt. Training under Marco Canha at Fight Zone in London, Pearman transitioned seamlessly to the black belt ranks, capturing the AJP Abu Dhabi World Pro title in 2021 and the IBJJF European Open in 2023.
